Summary

Gain foundational knowledge and explore contemporary best practices in project management to build the personal knowledge, skills and confidence you need to effectively lead projects. Whether you're leading your first project, struggling to get through all the projects on your to-do list or looking for strategies to ensure project success, you will benefit from this class.

This class is open to anyone interested in the topic, even non-project management professionals seeking to gain a broader understanding of how projects are managed. This class is one of the required classes for the revised Project Management Certificate. Learners can enroll in this class independent of working towards the PM Certificate. Overview

Learning objectives

  • Build a business case to help assess and prioritize a project request.
  • Apply the traditional methodology & lifecycle for effective project management.
  • Develop a project charter based on business goals and objectives to confidently initiate a project.
  • Create a Work Breakdown Structure towards building a plan for effective project delivery.
  • Utilize best practices to execute, monitor, and control the project work to align outcomes with the business needs.
  • Ensure effective implementation and graceful closure of a project.
