Whether you're stepping into a project leadership role for the first time, balancing multiple priorities, or seeking ways to drive projects to successful completion, this course provides you with invaluable insights, hands-on tools, and the confidence to turn any project vision into reality. Join us to elevate your project management expertise and deliver exceptional results. This course also counts toward the Project Management Certificate.

Overview

Learning objectives

  1. Build a business case to help assess and prioritize a project request.
  2. Apply the traditional methodology & lifecycle for effective project management.
  3. Develop a project charter based on business goals and objectives to confidently initiate a project.
  4. Create a Work Breakdown Structure towards building a plan for effective project delivery.
  5. Utilize best practices to execute, monitor, and control the project work to align outcomes with the business needs.
  6. Ensure effective implementation and graceful closure of a project.

Course Structure

The course is available in two formats:

  • Live: Two full days with live instruction on Zoom
  • Group Paced: Includes approximately seven hours of self-paced learning, along with four 1 hour and 15-minute live sessions over the span of two weeks.

Both formats cover the same material, are highly interactive, and include hands-on activities where you'll collaborate with peers in a simulated project team environment. A camera is required for participation.

Please note that the two formats are not offered simultaneously. Be sure to review the registration dates to ensure you're signing up for the format and schedule that work best for you.

Sagar Awate

(MS, Ohio State Univ.) has spent nearly a decade in project management as a consultant, employee, vendor, and contractor. He has also worked for various state agencies as well as in the private sector (consulting, insurance, finance, marketing, and sales). He is experienced in Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile methodologies.
