There are many myths about what managers can and should do to support employee work performance, satisfaction and engagement. Learn what decades of real-world management experience reveal about best practices and tools for day-to-day manager activities, plus gain insights from recent research focusing on today's diverse and fast-moving environments.

Learning Objectives
- Create a framework for better understanding the complex nature of work performance and dispel some of the myths about what works to impact performance.
- Identify multiple strategies managers can take to increase work motivation, engagement and performance.
- Explore tools for identifying different strategies for different individuals to build motivation.
- Increase our self-awareness of our outward behaviors and our inward thoughts so that we can identify how we may be demotivating others and creating performance barriers.
- Improve our ability to mediate team member conflict in order to preserve and strengthen team relationships as an approach to work motivation.
- Understand the importance of trust-building and explore multiple methods for building interpersonal trust.
