Participants will have the advantage of completing the EQi 2.0 self-assessment in advance of the class — the cost is included in the class fee.

Overview

Learning objectives:

  • Learn the brain science of emotions that drive common workplace behaviors.
  • Understand your own emotional intelligence skills and how they impact your relationships with others.
  • Identify ways to support team members in learning to manage their own emotions and reactions to others when they encounter differences of opinion, conflict and high-stakes decisions.
  • Expand your influence and credibility by developing your ability to respond skillfully as pressures increase.
  • Learn how to guide your team in gaining greater empathy and understanding by creating an environment of psychological safety where people feel valued by you and their peers.
  • Explore a toolkit of templates and resources to immediately apply with your team to cultivate the group's increased emotional intelligence skills.

Meet your instructor

Tracy Nelson

(MS, Organizational Development, Edgewood College) SPHR, CPTD, is the President of Aspire Talent Group, and has been a senior-level human resource, organizational development, and learning and talent development leader for more than 30 years. She was the Vice President for Talent Solutions for UW's Wisconsin School of Business Center for Professional and Executive Development and continues as a member of their adjunct faculty.  Before joining CPED, Tracy was the director of learning and development for UW-Health/University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and vice president, training and organizational development for Summit Credit Union.
