Summary

This course introduces foundational coaching skills - an approach for facilitating personal and professional development through conversation. Participants will learn basic coaching techniques including maintaining presence, active listening, asking powerful questions, and establishing accountability frameworks. Through live online sessions and guided practice, learners will develop self-awareness and intentionality in conversations while building a personal toolbox of coaching skills. These techniques enable participants to build trusting, authentic connections and foster open, growth-focused conversations in both workplace and personal settings. This introductory course provides an accessible starting point for anyone interested in applying coaching approaches to support learning and growth, inspire action, and help others navigate challenges and achieve meaningful goals.

How You Will Learn

This course is delivered through six live online sessions, complemented by supplemental readings, practice activities, and self-reflection exercises. Sessions are highly interactive, incorporating a mix of coaching demonstrations, discussions, and role-play to enhance learning.

Between sessions, learners will engage in self-reflection and targeted practice to deepen their understanding and reinforce key coaching skills. As a final project, participants will submit a brief reflection on their real-world application of coaching techniques and the insights gained from their experiences.
