Subject Area: Languages
Traveling to Japan? Want to deepen communication with Japanese speakers? In this course, you will learn to greet people, order in a restaurant, use public transportation, and ask for directions, while increasing your knowledge of Japanese life and culture. You will learn 2 of the 3 writing systems (Hiragana and Katakana) as well as fundamental grammar tailored for busy language learners of Japanese. Textbook required.

Japanese 2

Subject Area: Languages
Deepen your ability to communicate in Japanese with this language class. Learn to talk about travel plans and to express your ideas and experiences. While a strong emphasis will be placed on oral communication, you will also learn the logic behind what you are practicing. Textbook required. Prerequisite: Japanese 1 or equivalent. Must be able to read Hiragana and Katakana.
