Chariti Gent is a veteran of the coaching world, having started her journey by hiring her first professional coach in 2004. Since then, Chariti has held positions as an internal corporate coach and trainer for a major international franchise, president and founder of Chariti Gent Coaching and Consulting, and director and lead instructor for the UW–Madison Certified Professional Coach program. Chariti received her formal International Coach Federation (ICF) training and certification through the Co-Active Training Institute (formerly CTI) in 2010. Chariti became a certified ICF PCC Assessor in 2018 and earned the designation of Master Certified Coach (MCC) in 2020. Having coached hundreds and hundreds of individuals throughout the last decade and a half, Chariti brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to her role. Her students routinely rate her as a top-notch instructor, full of energy, enthusiasm and a true zest for learning. After creating a successful career selling Wisconsin's finest cheese, Rick Kempf decided to return to school to complete his Bachelor's in Sociology and Environmental Studies.  Not willing to wait to start his new career, as a student he worked both as an advisor for the UW–Madison Leadership Certificate program and as a program facilitator for the Adventure Learning Programs, leading experiential education based team building workshops.
After 3 years, in 2020, Rick is proud not just to have graduated, but also with a Certificate in Leadership and having received the Outstanding Returning Adult Student Award.
Since graduation Rick worked with the Madison school district and Lussier Community Center supporting students with virtual learning, and most recently is working with Boulders Climbing Gym leading and developing programming bringing climbing and experiential education to Madison communities which historically did not have access to such programs.
Rick is excited to begin working at UW–Madison in ACSSS, the very department he first reached out to 4 years ago as he began his journey back to school.

Alexia Kulwiec (JD) previously worked as Chief Counsel to the SEIU Local 1 in Chicago, Illinois, and Associate General Counsel at the IUOE Local 150 before joining the School for Workers in 2014. She brings this experience to her work analyzing and contributing to national labor policy through her publications and brief writing as well as to the classroom. She also currently studies labor standards in U.S. agriculture and the food system. While always willing to tailor courses for local unions or other advocacy groups, Alexia currently offers programs in labor and employment law, wage and hour claims, union organizing campaigns, contract negotiations and interpretation, grievance arbitration, hearings before the NLRB, internal union governance, women's leadership, employment discrimination, and workplace related immigration issues.

Dr. Jeffrey S. Russell, PhD, PE, F NSPE, Dist. M.ASCE, NAC, dean of the Division Continuing Studies and vice provost for lifelong learning, strives to uphold the University of Wisconsin–Madison as a global leader in service to lifelong learners, focusing on high academic standards, emerging technologies, organizational effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, and mentorship of future leaders.

A registered professional engineer in Wisconsin, Jeff is a professor of civil and environmental engineering for the College of Engineering. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati and master’s and doctoral degrees from Purdue University.

Among his awards and achievements, Jeff is especially proud of receiving the National Science Foundation’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring, awarded by the President of the United States for his work mentoring women pursuing careers in the construction industry.

Jeff learned the value of hard work growing up in a construction family where his father ran field operations for a small regional contractor in Ohio. He spent his youth working in construction, where he also learned the value of integrity and organization. Deeply influenced by a sister with Down syndrome, Jeff values family, the simple joys of life and the importance of respecting and supporting differences and diversity.
