Language Reading Knowledge Exam

These translation exams test reading knowledge of French, German, Italian or Spanish and meet the requirements of UW–Madison graduate programs. Register at least one week prior to your chosen exam date. No refunds after registration. Honorlock will proctor these exams.

German for Reading and Translation

Subject Area: LanguagesGerman
You will develop the skills you need to read and accurately translate German texts to English. Using relevant scholarly texts and excerpts from modern literature, you learn the fundamentals of the German language and German-to-English translation.
