Fourth Lake Writing Retreat: Event Details

"A workshop like this makes the writing life real. From the instructors to the other writers, the group shared their stories and often received on-the-spot remedies for problems. My critique group was a gift. Laurie was wonderful in guiding us through a thoughtful and rich discussion of strengths in our opening pages. We all left ready to finish our drafts with renewed energy."

Choose your workshop

Begin by asking yourself, What’s my goal for this writing retreat? What do I want to come away with at the end of the weekend, to carry forward with my writing in the months ahead? Once you have a sense of what you’re looking for in the retreat, read through the workshop descriptions and the instructor bios. See which one seems to best align with your goals and your writing, which one strikes a chord with you. Be adventurous, and follow your instincts.

The workshops are designed to benefit writers across a range of skill levels, and they vary depending upon each instructor’s experiences and approach to the writing process. Some workshops will focus on generating new writing through guided exercises and prompts, some to providing feedback on your writing, and some a combination of both.
