Learn more about the artistic, social, and political contexts that shaped the worlds of 20th century dance artists and the work they made. You’ll learn about how these visionaries were shaped by their time and get to dance some of their most iconic movements. These workshop provide an exhilarating window to waves of 20th century art.

Open to dancers of all levels.

Martha Graham, renowned American dance pioneer, was an innovative force in 20th century art. Learn about the cultural forces that influenced her—Freud’s new psychology, first wave feminism, the rise of fascism, and modernist art.
