Clinical Psychology Summer Institute

Learn current information and best practices to meet the needs of your clients/patients

Join us at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for academically rigorous classes designed to meet continuing education requirements for clinical psychologists and other mental health providers. We provide the latest in evidence-based research and practice, taught by respected clinicians and researchers who are at the leading edge of their fields.

  • American Psychological Association approved continuing education provider.
  • A beautiful campus and city to explore.
  • Learner level: Intermediate to advanced

The Clinical Psychology Summer Institute comprises five one-day classes that can be taken individually—or attend more than one and get a substantial discount. Earn 6 CE hours (0.6 Continuing Education Units) from UW–Madison Continuing Studies for each class you take.

Classes run 8:30am-2:30pm each day, which allows time to network with colleagues, visit our campus, or discover a city regularly voted as one of the best places to live.

Per the American Psychological Association, continuing education enables psychologists to keep pace with the most current scientific evidence regarding assessment, intervention, and education.

Per Wisconsin Administrative Code Chapter PSY 4, licensed psychologists must complete at least 40 hours of board-approved continuing education each two-year licensure renewal period. This summer institute offers 30 hours of CE programming toward your requirement.

For other states, check with your licensing board. Most states require CE hours for professional licensure renewal.

To help conserve resources, class materials will be available electronically. No paper handouts will be distributed at programs.
