So You Want to Change the World? Social Entrepreneurship 101
Summary
Social entrepreneurship puts empathy into action by empowering people to create systems-changing social impact. It uses the characteristics that make business entrepreneurs successful — creativity, persistence, resilience, innovation — but changes the definition of success from profitability to social impact. You can even generate revenue if that’s useful. It’s about the HOW, not the WHAT. Are you interested in learning how to apply this innovative approach to your own changemaking? Learn to apply your passion and skillsets to create social impact that matters. Get past theory and learn practical approaches and strategies.
This class will be offered online. Each 90-minute class meeting includes lecture, group discussion and exercises, and working through out-of-class readings and assignments. Expect to spend approximately 1.5 hours on readings and assignments between classes. Instructor will be available for some consultation between class meetings.
