Get an introduction to using your data and unlock this powerful spreadsheet software for business and personal use. Learn Microsoft Excel essentials for formatting and organizing data. Gain a level of confidence and save time by creating spreadsheets to efficiently collect, organize, and track data and lists. You also gain the skills to format spreadsheets and create basic workbooks, enter and format data and insert formulas to perform calculations.

Technology Requirements:

  • A laptop or desktop computer with Excel 2016 or newer, desktop version. Using the online or cloud based version is not recommended.
  • Please note that this class teaches Excel for Windows. Macintosh users must be prepared to adapt instructions for their own devices during the class.

Learning objectives

  • Review the fundamental features of Excel.
  • Apply essential worksheet operations.
  • Insert, edit and remove data and worksheets.
  • Investigate common Excel functions.
  • Apply formatting to data and worksheets.
  • Examine conditional formatting rules.
  • Compare the compatibility of different versions of Excel.
