Dancing in Context: Merce Cunningham and Chance, Technology, and the Avant-Garde

Merce Cunningham broke from American modernism, creating dance from chance procedures and working with numerous avant-garde artists. His explorations opened radical new possibilities in dance, and made way for the subsequent post-modern dance movement. Dancing in Context workshops explore the work and cultural contexts of important choreographers, and teach some of the movements that made them famous. Open to dancers of all levels.
