Dancing in Context: José Limón and Revolution, Humanism, and Mexican Murals

Choreographer José Limón escaped the Mexican revolution and came of age in post-WWII America. Limón's work struggled with universal human experiences and themes of good and evil. Try on the rhythmic, grandiose physicality of Limón's dance. Dancing in Context workshops explore the work and cultural contexts of important choreographers, and teach some of the movements that made them famous. Open to dancers of all levels.
