This class is two days, offered in a highly participatory, live-online format.
This class is open to anyone interested in the topic who has already taken the Fundamentals of Project Management class or who already has a foundation knowledge of project management. This is also a required part of the Project Management Certificate.
Advance your project management skills by diving deep into some of the critical components of managing a project. Building teams and helping them perform effectively has dividends for both the project and the organization. Effective resource management is a critical piece of project budget management and plays a role in enterprise level resource optimization. Making sure that there is a comprehensive risk register that's appropriately weighted allows for better control of the impacts on a project's progress and creates a higher margin of safety leading to greater confidence in the delivery plan. Capturing lessons learned in a disciplined manner through post implementation reviews helps an organization build a knowledge base of best practices that enhances its execution capabilities and improves the probability of ongoing success. Going beyond the basics of project management creates a culture of learning, accountability, transparency, high performance and successful delivery.
- Plan for, acquire, develop and manage project teams with appropriate roles and responsibilities
- Create strong relationships within and around the project, effectively resolve conflicts, strengthen communications, and thus enable a high-performance environment
- Develop a robust Risk Management plan by identifying negative as well as positive risks, and doing a thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis, to monitor and control the risks to stabilize the project’s risk profile then proactively.
- Enable continuous improvement of the project management practice within the organization through disciplined and methodical post-project reviews.
