At a Glance

The Wisconsin Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program is a nationally accredited management development program. Gain cutting-edge knowledge and learn practical skills from experienced experts.

The CPM Program prepares managers in federal, state, and local government and in tribal and non-profit organizations for the challenges and unique demands of the public management profession. You can do self-directed certification, choose to be part of a cohort (colleague group), or simply take a class that interests you.

What: 300-hour, nationally accredited certificate program preparing government, tribal, and nonprofit employees for the unique challenges and demands of public management.

Who: Taught by UW-Madison staff and specialists and consultants in leadership, management, and workplaces skills.

When: Self-directed certification can begin any time; individual classes run Sept-June. A cohort group began in April 2018. To be notified when future cohort dates are set, please contact Sunshine Jansen at sunshine.jansen@wisc.edu.
