Continuing Studies staff donate holiday gifts to addiction treatment center

It’s only fitting that staff members at UW-Madison Continuing Studies would lend a hand to those who are in the midst of treatment for alcohol and other drug abuse; after all, we offer intensive professional development seminars for social workers and other helping professionals who work to help people in treatment.

To bring joy to that population, Continuing Studies staff members have again donated hundreds of personal care items to the annual holiday project, which this year provided 40 well-stocked gift bags to residents of Madison’s ARC Center for Women and Children.

The female clients of the center will enjoy their colorful gift bags filled with shampoo, lotion, Girl Scout cookies, tissues, socks, gloves, toothpaste, towels, wash cloths, and other sundries and clothes.

The ARC Center for Women and Children is a women-specific, alcohol and other drug abuse day-treatment program that also provides services for participants’ children.
