There are many opportunities to access learning opportunities and the resources of UW-Madison without applying for or earning university credit.

Noncredit Certificates
These programs are intended to serve returning adult students who wish to acquire specialized training to meet current and future job requirements. Certificates are available through Continuing Studies and also through UW-Madison departments.Guest Auditing
If you want to attend a credit class without earning credits, apply as a Guest auditor. Guest students audit regular UW-Madison courses at a reduced fee. If you are 60+ years of age and a Wisconsin resident, you may apply as a Senior Guest Auditor. Adult Career and Special Student Services admits guest auditors and senior guest auditors.
University Summer Forums
are free academic courses with UW-Madison professors addressing contemporary issues in an engaging classroom setting each summer. University Summer Forums are open to the public at no cost and to registered students for the regular credit fees.
