Program Costs and Scholarship Opportunities
Foundations Certificate: $6,500
The Foundation pathway includes:
- Participation in all program sessions
- Small mentoring groups during each session
- Mentoring for portfolio development and other assignments
Experiences with mentoring groups, a new knowledge base of skills and portfolio development will help prepare participants who wish to seek endorsement as an Infant Family Specialist.
Advanced Clinical Practice Certificate: $8,600.
The Advanced Clinical Practice pathway provides these additional experiences:
- Individual semi-monthly reflective consultation
- Advanced Clinical Practice reflective mentoring groups
- Specialized clinically focused coursework in assessment, diagnostic evaluation and treatment of disorders of infancy and early childhood
Experiences with clinical consultation and mentoring groups, a new knowledge base of skills and portfolio development will help prepare participants who wish to seek endorsement as an Infant Mental Health Specialist.
Additional Costs
Required books cost $200-$250 and are the responsibility of the students. Handouts and other reading materials for sessions are included in the program tuition.
Computer and Internet Access
Each participant will need to have access to an e-mail account and the Internet. Learn@UW, a course management site, will be used to support the program. This includes the posting of program information, readings and other materials. Learn@UW also offers opportunities for participants to interact between sessions. For those with limited Internet access, accommodations and suggestions for access can be arranged.
Scholarships
The team who developed this program is committed to the establishment of scholarships to help defray the costs of the program. Applicants are also encouraged to contact their employer or professional associations to explore the possibility of tuition assistance.

Payment Schedule
Upon acceptance in the program, a nonrefundable deposit of $500 is required within 30 days of acceptance. Payment options are negotiable depending on individual circumstances. Program fees must be paid in full by the end of the program.
Cancellations/Refunds
If something were to happen that would keep a participant from completing the program, individual circumstances will be taken into consideration and a plan will be worked out with the program directors and UW-Madison Continuing Studies, Professional Development and Applied Studies.
