Arts and Humanities
We offer several unique program for professionals working in education, music, theatre, and writing. Benefit from the instruction and insight of specialists and hands-on learning. Most programs are noncredit however several summer workshops can be taken for optional university credit. CEU's are available for all programs.

Educational Video Series
Clinics on Cassettes is a comprehensive set of instructional videos for use in the music classroom, the studio, or self-directed learning. Renowned artist/teachers share their expertise in strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, keyboard, jazz, general music, and ensemble development. Most titles are available on VHS and DVD.National String Instrument Repair Clinics
These intensive clinics provide hands-on experiences for those interested in learning to repair string instruments. Participants work on their own projects under the guidance of skilled specialists.Professional Theatre and Drama
The Summer Drama Institute helps adults working in schools or community theatre develop directing, producing or set design skills. The Wisconsin Theatre Auditions and Technical Interviews offer an opportunity for actors, technicians, dancers and management personnel to audition and interview with theatre producers.Professional Writing
Programs include The Writer's Institute, a 2-day conference for writers covers a variety of topics, from the basics to the business and the Write by the Lake Retreat, a week long retreat filled with creativity development and networking.Language Programs
Two online programs are available to help professionals hone their language skills. The online Spanish Business Certificate Program and an online French Business course.The Wisconsin Wrights New Play Project
was created to foster the development of new works by Wisconsin playwrights. This endeavor awards three individual playwright residencies as well as a weekend of readings.Madison Early Music Festival and Workshop
Musicians, scholars, and enthusiasts from around the country gather for a week in July to enjoy, discuss, and perform music composed before 1750. There are classes, lectures, and performing opportunities for the novice to expert, and public concerts featuring world-renowned artists-in-residence, faculty, and students.
