About your trip leaders
Antonio Noguera (PhD in Spanish, UW-Madison) is from Madrid, where he managed his own company for many years. He has taught language and culture courses at UW-Madison, Edgewood College, and Minnesota State University.
Julie M. Dahl (PhD in Spanish, UW-Madison) directs the Spanish language enrichment courses at UW-Madison and has taught all levels of Spanish language, literature and culture courses. She has lived and worked in Spain and Portugal and translated for medical teams traveling in Latin America.
What you’ll experience
Immerse yourself in beautiful Cuenca, Ecuador while learning Spanish and giving back to the community through volunteer service. This 20-day trip includes 33 hours of Spanish instruction, 40 hours of volunteer work, lodging with a local family, two days in Quito, four day-trips to nearby sites, and opportunities to learn local music and cooking. For an additional fee, you can experience the Galápagos Islands for the last five days.
