Location
The Madison Early Music Festival takes place on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Concerts and classes take place in the George L. Mosse Humanities Building, only steps from the noted Chazen (formerly Elvehjem) Museum of Art. Festival participants can stroll lakeshore path along the shores of Lake Mendota as they visit the Memorial Union Terrace and enjoy Babcock Hall Ice Cream, a local specialty.
On nearby State Street, you’ll enjoy a plethora of leisure options ranging from restaurants and coffee shops to museums and a movie theater. Visit one of the many shops or bookstores as you walk toward the State Capitol building and square. Saturday morning farmers’ markets on the Capitol Concourse are well worth a visit.
