We live on Crawling Stone Lake near Lac du Flambeau, WI. Every spring, we anxiously await for the loons to return. Each year we watch for the female to lay her eggs in the same nest on the shore of a peninsula near us. Watching the mother care for her chicks, carrying them on her back in the safety area between her wings is truly … priceless. It is very beautiful to fall asleep each night listening to the “call of the loons.” This painting was done as a tribute to the love we have for the loons residing on our lake.
