This fountain, located along Boston’s Freedom Trail, just gleamed in the morning light. What fascinated me was the way the light illuminated and enlivened the figures metaphorically as well as visually. The austere linear shapes of the buildings provide a fitting contrast to the rich organic forms of the figures rimmed in light.
