Arts Business Symposium
At our inaugural conference, "Bidirectionality: Arts as Business as Arts," we'll explore the substantive connections between arts and business and open up a conversation about research and practice at the intersection of the two disciplines.

Arts Enterprise: Art as Business
This course provides an overview and foundation for those interested in developing, launching, or advancing innovative enterprises in arts, culture, and design.

Ballet 1
The study of ballet technique formulates a combined appreciation for dance, music, and art through development of grace, coordination, strength, and discipline.

Ballet 2
The study of ballet technique formulates a combined appreciation for dance, music, and art through development of grace, coordination, strength, and discipline.

Ballet 3
Continue to develop grace, coordination, strength, and discipline through the study of ballet. Level 3, an intermediate course, builds on the techniques and skills learned in previous levels. 

Ballet 4
Move to an intermediate-advanced level as you continue to develop grace, coordination, strength, and discipline through the study of ballet. Level 4 builds on the techniques and skills learned in previous levels.

Ballroom Dance
Learn how to manage ethically, how to promote ethical conduct, and the potential problems in enforcing rules governing ethical behavior.

Creating Dance Through Structured Improvisation
This course familiarizes you with various structures for developing creative dance in the moment. Experience the joy of your own authentic dance movements.

Dance Performance: from Studio to Stage
Take a behind-the-scenes look at Kanopy Dance Company's fall concert. Study the creative process, from music selection and costume and lighting design to how the choreographer and dancers prepare.

Grassroots Marketing for the Arts
Learn how to develop a promotion plan to successfully market events, concerts, shows, and seasons.

Guest Artist Master Class: Chen-Style Taijiquan
Learn the single movement principle of taiji: leading with the core. We cover basic patterns, turns, and moves of the original t'ai chi style (Chen-style Taijiquan) and explore the 4 Ps of taiji: physics, physiology, psychology, and philosophy.

Irish Step Dance
This class introduces you to the basics of solo Irish dancing, with a focus on jigs, reels, and hornpipes.

Modern Dance Technique 1
Explore concepts of space, time, and energy while developing coordination, physical alignment, movement flow, and familiarity with the vocabulary of modern dance.

Tap Rhythms
Tap classes focus on learning and executing technique and on developing rhythm, timing, and tempo in an upbeat atmosphere. This beginning-level class introduces form, with emphasis on rhythm and movement combinations.

Summer Youth Theatre Camp
Offered in partnership with the UW-Madison Dept. of Theatre and Drama, this one-week commuter camp for high school students combines experiences onstage and backstage to offer a broad perspective on the craft of theatre.
