Module 1

Coaching Fundamentals: Setting the Foundation

In this module we touch on every aspect of the coaching process and lay the foundation for deepening your development as a Professional Life Coach. You acquire the fundamentals you need to begin your coaching career.

When: W-F, Sept 17-19, 9am-5pm

Module 2

Supervision and Mentoring: Increasing Your Impact Through Experience

This virtual module, which runs throughout the program, is where your coaching will truly flourish. We begin with a 2-hour teleconference to review the process and goals of supervision. Then you have 6 individual sessions in which an ICF-certified coach observes your coaching and provides written and verbal feedback based on the ICF Core Competencies. You also have an additional 4 hours of group supervision where you are mentored on your coaching skills and you mentor other students.


Initial teleconference: T, Sept 30, 2014 (11:30am-1:30pm)

Throughout the program, October 2014 through the end of the program in May 2015:

  • Group Supervision Teleconference with ICF certified coach- 3 2-hour group supervisions - students will be put into 1 of 2 groups for supervision -  (dates are: Group 1 — Oct 21, Feb 10,  Mar 31; Group 2 — Oct 28, Feb 17, Apr 28)
  • Virtual (Oct 2014 through the end of the program in May 2015) - 6 1-hour individual supervisions
  • 10 hours of mentoring with a PCC/MCC certified coach

Module 3

Coaching Presence: An Inside-Out Perspective

Here we focus on your development as a person and as a coach. Discover core values, beliefs, and perspectives that shape your frame of reference and then learn how to self-manage in order to heighten your coaching presence. Know yourself better so you can be a more effective and powerful agent of change.

When: W-F, Nov 19-21, 9am-5pm

Module 4

The KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) of Empowered Coaching

Increase your knowledge of coaching practices and principles, practice communication skills that guide the client to a higher level of awareness, and develop your abilities that will increase your confidence and help the client deepen their learning and achieve their vision.

When: 5 teleconferences, Tuesdays, 11:30am-1:30pm

Module 5

Co-Creating a Coaching Relationship

Learn how to create a safe and supportive environment based on mutual respect and trust, which in turn helps the client be bold and courageous in achieving their goals. Understanding the coaching process and the importance of coaching logistics helps you co-create a strong coaching relationship.

When: W-F, Feb 18-20, 9am-5pm

Module 6

Coaching Ethics: Understanding ICF Ethical Guidelines

Examine the ethical guidelines and professional standards created by the International Coach Federation. ICF is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession, setting professional standards, and providing independent certification. Understanding the ethics and standards of coaching is a major part of the credentialing process.

When: 5 teleconferences, Tuesdays, 11:30am-1:30pm

Module 7

Forwarding the Action: Facilitating Learning and Results

Learn how to guide the client from awareness to creating what they want for themself. Understand how to establish, create, design, and plan with the client to facilitate progress, deepen learning, and forward the action.

When: W-F, Apr 22-24, 9am-5pm
ICF Core Competencies: Creating Awareness, Designing Actions, Planning and Goal Setting, Managing Progress and Accountability

Module 8

Integration: Bringing it All Together

Understand how all the pieces fit together to create a powerful coaching relationship that includes action and accountability. You will have a higher level of self-awareness, an understanding and basic practice of coaching skills, and the ability to co-create dynamic coaching relationships.
