Noncredit Certificate

Noncredit certificates are another way to serve new nontraditional audiences. These certificates offer flexibility to the student and the sponsoring academic unit and are attractive to professional audiences that do not need academic credit. Though they may carry continuing education units (CEU) or other kinds of regulatory continuing education credits, the certificates are not posted to the UW-Madison student transcript, nor is there a formal academic approval process. However, there is a reporting requirement for new certificates. Policy guidelines for noncredit certificates were approved by the UAPC in June 2011.
